Llama Ocarina Flute An Ocarina is a small, simple wind instrument, usually made out of terracotta. It must be tuned while the clay is still wet. The Ocarina has four to thirteen finger holes and a mouth piece. They come in different sizes and shapes with the larger ones having a mellow, hollow tone. Descending from the ritual clay whistles of Pre-Colombian South America, the Ocarina was called a “peasant whistle” by some because it was cheap to make and was made to hang around the neck so it was always ready to use. |
